NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2018: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has published NIFT 2018 notification on its official website. Candidates can avail the information directly from the website and they can also check crucial information here in this article. The NIFT 2018  online link for submission of application form is available now from 20th October, 2017 to till 29th December, 2017. However, candidates can submit application form till 2nd January, 2018 with late fee. Eligibility criteria for UG courses

Courses NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2018

Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F. Tech.)

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or its equivalent exam from a recognized State or Central Board/Institute with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. OR
  • One who passed from any Public University/School/Board exam in India or Foreign must have recognition of Association of Indian Universities with above mentioned subjects. OR
  • Candidate possessing a diploma of at least 3 years or 4 years recognized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) or State Board of Technical Education.
  • As on 1st October, 2018, candidate’s age should not exceed 23 years.
  • There will be relaxation of five years to reserved category candidates.

Bachelor of Design 

(B. Des.)

  • Intermediate (12th) or equivalent exam from a recognized State Board of Secondary Education. OR
  • Candidate who passed from any Public University/School/Board exam in India or Foreign Countries should have recognition of Association of Indian Universities as 10+2 pattern of education. OR
  • Candidates studied under National Open School Examination with five main subjects will be eligible. OR
  • The one who is having diploma under 10+2 or 10+4 pattern recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education is also eligible.
  • Candidate’s age should not be more than 23 years and reserved category candidates will get five year relaxations.

Eligibility criteria for PG courses

Master of Design (M. Des.)
  • Candidate having Bachelor’s degree in Design courses from any recognized Institute/ University.  OR
  • Diploma holder in Undergraduate programme of design from NIFT/NID. OR
  • Undergraduate diploma of minimum 3 years duration from NIFT/NID.
  • No age limit prescribed.

Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.)

  • One who possess B.E./B.Tech. Degree from recognized institute will be eligible. OR
  • B. F. Tech. degree holder from NIFT can apply for NIFT.

Master of Fashion Management (MFM)

  • Bachelor’s degree from any institute/university recognized by State Govt. /Central Govt. OR
  • Undergraduate diploma of minimum 3 years duration from NIFT/NID.
  • Not age limit fixed.

NIFT 2018: Other Requirements

  • Candidates who are appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to make application.
  • If result of any candidate delayed due to some unknown reasons and not declared at the time of admission, then the candidate need to submit an Affidavit of Rs.10 on Non-judicial Stamp paper.
  • Candidate should note that the admission in any course will be purely provisional till candidate submit the final result.
  • Candidate must have to submit result on or before 30th September, 2018 otherwise his/her admission will be treated as null and void (cancelled) and fee submitted by the candidates will be forfeited.

NIFT Admission Procedure

Candidates who successfully clear the entrance examination will further go through counselling process. Admission will only be finalized on the basis of written exam performance of the candidates. However, seats availability, rank in merit list are some factor which will decide the fate of candidate. Candidate must attend counselling process otherwise their candidature may be cancelled. The exam is national level entrance test and there are various NIFT campuses throughout India.
