NEET Counselling 2022: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level exam which is conducted by the National Testing Agency. Candidates seeking admission in MBBS/BDS courses must appear in NEET. The National Testing Agency conducts the NEET exam on yearly basis. There is no other exam in the country through which candidates can take admission in medical courses. Candidates must qualify the NEET exam with minimum qualifying marks. Candidates have to fulfil basic eligibility requirements to appear in the NEET. After qualifying the NEET exam, candidates have to go through NEET Counselling for admission to the desired college/course. Admission will be finalized only after completion of the Counselling process.
NEET 2022 Counselling is likely to start from the 2nd week of August 2022. After the declaration of the NEET result, meritorious candidates have to go through the Counselling process. They must start the preparation for the Counselling process. Medical Counselling Committee conducts NEET All India Quota Counselling for 15% seats. Candidates have to keep ready all the documents such as the educational certificate, domicile, caste certificate (if applicable) and category certificate (if applicable) etc. well in advance before the start of Counselling.

Successful candidates who qualify the NEET 2022, need to follow some steps to appear in the Counselling process. These steps are as under:
Candidates have to make online registration to participate in the NEET 2022 Counselling otherwise they cannot appear in the Counselling. On successful registration, the candidate will receive the system generated user ID and password at the registered e-mail ID/Mobile Number. Log in with your user ID and password and follow the remaining steps.
Now candidates need to select their preferred college and programmes. After providing details, click on the “Save” button to lock your preferences. It is mandatory to save the entries to lock choices.
Candidates will receive information related to their allotted college after some days on their registered e-mail ID or mobile number. The allotment of college/seat will be done totally on the basis of the candidate’s marks obtained in the written exam.
Post declaration of result, candidates need to report allotted college on scheduled date and time along with all the required documents. If anyone failed to report allotted college on the said date and time, then his/her candidature may be cancelled and the seat may be provided to the next candidate.
Note: Candidates found guilty of misleading authority and appeared in the NEET through unfair means will be permanently debarred from appearing in the exam and legal action may be taken.
The competent authority will prepare NEET-UG 2022 merit list as per the guidelines laid down under the relevant Rules and Regulations notified by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. The merit list of the NEET 2022 exam will be prepared on the following parameters:
Note: The NEET counselling will be held on basis of candidates’ AIR (All India Rank). However, candidates belonging to J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana cannot participate in the All India Quota Counselling. If seats remain vacant under 15% AIQ counselling, then it will be clubbed with State Quota seats.
The States will conduct 85% state quota seats and candidates can apply to their home state. After that, the competent authority will release the merit list as per the candidates All India Rank and State rules. Accordingly, candidates have to report to the allotted college as per the scheduled date and time for verification of original documents:
Candidate must carry all the important documents which are required at the time of Counselling. The competent authority will verify all your documents. Hence, you need to take along all original documents and also attested photocopies of the same. Failing to do so, they will not allow you to participate in the Counselling. The important documents are as under:
Admission to any candidate will be purely on the basis of the candidate’s marks. Candidates have to report the allotted college on the scheduled date and time for completing other admission formalities such as verification of original documents etc. If someone fails to do so then the candidate’s seat will be offered to other candidates. In this regard, the decision of the competent authority will be final.
Candidates must be aware of the fact that for 85% State quota seats will be filled by State Counselling. Eligible candidates have to apply for State Counselling for admission in their home State. The concerned authority based on candidates’ All India Rank will allot the seat to the meritorious candidates.
The 85% State Counselling schedule may be different from one State to another as it is up to the concerned State when they are starting their Counselling. After allotment of the seat, candidates must report to the allotted college within the specified time limit. If anyone failed to report to the allotted college as per the direction given in the allotment letter, then he/she may lose the chance of admission. In this case, the other student in the rank will get an opportunity.

A: It is expected that the NEET 2022 result will be announced in the first week of June 2022.
