WBJEE Exam Pattern 2020: Candidates must be conversant with the exam pattern and syllabus prescribed by the Board. WBJEE Exam Pattern 2020
Applicants are recommended to check the exam pattern and prepare accordingly. The important points with regard to WBJEE Exam Pattern 2020 are as under:
- The WBJEE is a Common Entrance Examination which is to be held in the offline mode i.e Pen and Paper Based examination.
- The examination will consist of two paper i.e Paper-I and Paper-II.
- Paper-I will be of Mathematics based and Paper-II will be based on Physics and Chemistry combined.
- It is important to appear in both the paper for admission in any Engineering/Technology/Architecture course.
- In Jadavpur University, for admission in Pharmacy course, both the papers are compulsory to attempt.
- For Admission in other courses (excluding Pharmacy course of the Jadavpur University), candidates need to appear in Paper-II (Physics + Chemistry) only. Paper-I (Mathematics) is not compulsory to attend.
- However, candidates appearing both the paper are also eligible for Pharmacy Course.
Scheme of WBJEE Exam
- All the question will be of multiple choice questions in nature having four alternatives.
- Candidates have to choose one right answer out of four given alternative.
- The questions will be based on Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as explained above.
- The maximum marks of the question papers will be of 200 marks i.e. 100 marks each paper.
- Total 155 questions will be asked where Paper-I will consist of 75 questions and Paper-II will consist of 80 questions.
- For every wrong attempt, 1/4th marks will be deducted.

WBJEE 2020: Key Highlights
- Category I question will contain only 1 correct option and for the wrong attempt, 1/4th marks will be deducted.
- For Category II question, only 1 answer will be correct and each question will carry 2 marks. 25% marks will be deducted for the wrong attempt.
- In category III questions, one or more than one answer may be correct and each question will carry 2 marks.
- Candidate should be careful while marking respective response in the OMR sheet.
- Use blue or black ball point pen to darken the circle in the answer sheet.
- WBJEEB will not consider the incomplete answer, circled with pencil, tick mark, cross mark, dot mark, overwriting, erasing, white ink, marking outside the circle etc. in any case and has not responsible for such attempt.
- The answer once given cannot be changed/edited/erased/modified. Hence, candidates are advised to be sure before marking the answer.
