WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2020: All the candidates should verify their eligibility to appear in the WBJEE 2020 entrance exam before making an online application. Candidates should download official information brochure from the official website to get information regarding eligibility criteria. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board has invited application form from 18th October 2019. Interested candidates must apply online after verifying eligibility criteria in detail. WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2020

Students are advised to check the eligibility criteria first and then go ahead for applying online. Based on the facts and information available, the following eligibility criteria needs to be fulfilled. Aspirants can check the criteria below.

Nationality: A citizen of India can apply.

Domicile

There is no such requirement of domicile in particular to appear in the WBJEE 2020. However, it is applicable for those candidates who are seeking relaxation in fee or want to admission in Government Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy colleges.

Age Criteria

  • Candidate’s age should be not less than 17 years as on 31.12.2020.
  • No upper age limit is fixed for appearing in the WBJEE 2020 exam.
  • Age of the candidate in respect of Marine Engineering Course should fall within 17 to 25 years as on 31st December 2020.

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate should have completed 10+2 exam from a recognized Board/Institute.
  • He/she should have Physics and Mathematics along with one of the subjects in Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/ Computer Application as the compulsory subject in the qualifying exam i.e. 10+2.
  • They must obtain a minimum 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) aggregate in the qualifying exam to appear in the WBJEE exam.
  • Candidate should also have English in the qualifying exam i.e. 10+2 exam and secure at 30% marks in this particular subject.
  • Candidate appearing the 10+2 exam can also apply for WBJEE 2020  exam but he/she should fulfil the eligibility criteria as mentioned above for admission.

WBJEE 2020: Important Information

  • The WBJEEB will not verify eligibility criteria and other information such as date of birth, income, domicile, reservation category, academic qualification etc. during online application.
  • All the verification will be done later during counselling and admission process.
  • Any candidate found ineligible at any stage after examination, he/she will be treated as disqualified for admission even if they obtain rank in the merit list.
  • Therefore, appearing in the WBJEE 2020 exam and securing a rank does not mean that he/she is eligible for admission.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2020: Institute Specific Criteria

Apart from the above eligibility criteria, the individual institute/university has their own criteria to admit students in particular courses. The institute specific eligibility criteria are as under:

Eligibility for all available courses except “Jute & Fibre Technology”:

  • 10+2 or any equivalent exam pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 60% marks (55% for ST/SC/OBC/PWD candidates) aggregate and at least 30% marks in English.

Eligibility for Jute & Fibre Technology course

  • 10+2 or any equivalent exam pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 45% marks (40% for ST/SC/OBC/PWD candidates) aggregate and at least 30% marks in English.
2.     The Jadavpur University (Faculty of Engineering & Technology)

All courses including Bachelor of Pharmacy and except five Year degree course in Architecture

  • Candidate must qualify 10+2 or equivalent exam with PCM having secured at least 60% (45% for reserved category) marks aggregate and 30% marks in English.

Eligibility for five-year degree course in Architecture

  • Apart from the above eligibility criteria, the candidate must qualify NATA or Paper-II of the JEE Main 2020.

The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences B.Tech.(Dairy Technology) Course

  • Candidate must pass the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as a compulsory subject in regular class mode from recognized board/institute.
  • He/she should have scored minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying exam.
4.     The Neotia University

All B. Tech. Courses except Marine Engineering: Pass 10+2 or equivalent exam with PCM as compulsory subject with 60% marks aggregate.

B. Tech. in Marine Engineering: 10+2 or equivalent exam with PCM as compulsory subject with minimum 60% marks aggregate and at least 50% in English.

Course-wise WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2020

Degree Course in Marine Engineering

  • Candidate must qualify 12th class examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any equivalent examination from a recognized Council/Board in regular class mode.
  • They should score minimum 60% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50% marks in English in 10 or 10+2 class.

Five year degree course in Architecture

  • Candidate should obtain 50% marks aggregate in the qualifying exam with mathematics at 10+2 level.
  • They must qualify NATA conducted by Council of Architecture, New Delhi or Paper-II of the JEE Main conducted by CBSE.
