SSC JE 2022: The Staff Selection Commission conducts the exam for filling the vacant post of Junior Engineers (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) in various Departments. Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply online for SSC JE 2022 exam, one must comply with the eligibility conditions required under the rules. If any candidate is found ineligible at a later stage, his/her candidature will be cancelled immediately. The important eligibility criteria, which are essential to fulfil, are as under:

Educational qualification

  • Candidates must have a degree or diploma in their respective subject according to the post.
  • For example for JE (Civil), CPWD, candidates must hold a diploma in civil engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • JE (Electrical), CPWD, one must hold a diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • For JE (Civil/Electrical), Central Water Power Research Station, the candidate must have a diploma in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
  • Similarly, JE (Civil/Mechanical), Central Water Commission, candidate must be a diploma holder in Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.
  • On the same line, candidates have to fulfil the educational qualification required for other posts. For detailed information in this regard, go through the official notification.

Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came here to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention to settle here permanently.

Age Criteria

  • The age limit will be counted as 01.08.2022.
  • The maximum age limit is 32 years for JE (Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical), Central Water Commission and CPWD.
  • JE (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), MES, Central Water Power Research Station, age must not exceed 30 years.
  • JE (Civil/ Surveying and Contract), Department of Post, MES, age must be within 18 to 27 years.
  • Age relaxation will be applicable to the candidates belonging to the reserved category.

SSC JE 2022 Application form

Candidates who are eligible as per the eligibility criteria stated above can apply online for SSC JE 2022 application form. The application form can be submitted online mode only at the official website i.e. http://ssconline.nic.in. All the fields should be filled correctly.

To complete the application for the SSC JE exam, a necessary application fee amounting to Rs.100/- should be paid. Payment can be made via SBI Challan, Net Banking and Debit/Credit card. The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Exemption of paying fee, will be provided to the reserved category candidates according to the prescribed rule.

Exam Pattern

Candidates must be acquainted with the examination pattern and syllabus so that they can prepare and qualify the SSC JE 2022 exam. The important points are cited below:

  • SSC JE exam comprises two papers i.e. Paper-I & Paper-II.
  • Paper-I will be of the objective type question paper.
  • The syllabus of Paper-I includes (i) General Intelligence & Reasoning, (ii) General Awareness and (iii) Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or Part-B: General Engineering (Electrical) or Part-C: General Engineering (Mechanical).
  • In the 3rd part of Paper-I, Part-A, Part-B and Part-C will be attempted according to the respective post.
  • Paper-I will have the provision of negative marking and 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Paper-II will be of conventional type i.e. descriptive type consisting of three parts as Part-A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or Part-B General Engineering (Electrical) or Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical).
  • Candidates have to attempt only one part according to the concerned post.
  • The duration of both papers will be 2.00 hours.

SSC JE 2022 Admit Card

Eligible candidates can obtain the admit card from the official website of the SSC. The admit card will be available to download one or two weeks before the SSC JE 2022 exam. The Commission will not send a hard copy of the admit card through the post in any case. Hence, candidates are required to check the website regularly. It is necessary to bring admit card along with ID proof like Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter Card etc. on the day of examination.

SSC JE Result

The Staff Selection Commission will declare the final result of the SSC JE 2022 exam once the entire examination process gets over. Shortlisted candidates for Paper-I will be called for appearing in Paper-II. Performance in the written examination i.e. Paper-I & Paper-II will be counted for making the final result and accordingly, selection will be made.
