JEE Main 2022 Notification will be released soon. Registration may begin from the last week of February 2022. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is the concerned authority, which conducts JEE Main exam on a PAN India basis. JEE Main is the only exam after which students can take admission in premier engineering institutes. Candidates seeking admission in undergraduate engineering degree courses like B.E./B.Tech./B. Arch. programmes offered by IITs, NITs, CFTIs and other technical institutes can apply for JEE Main.

Changes Introduced in JEE Main Exam

The competent authority has introduced some new changes in JEE Main Exam Pattern which are as under:

  • The applicants must know that the JEE Main exam will be conducted twice a year in the month of January and April through online mode. 
  • The weightage of 12th class marks/percentage will not be taken into consideration for making JEE Main 2022 All India Rank.
  • Candidates must obtain at least 75% marks in the qualifying exam (12th) for admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs while SC/ST candidates should achieve a minimum of 60% marks to be eligible OR
  • They should be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam of the concerned Board.
  • Each candidate should have Aadhar Card Number to make JEE Main application form. However, candidates belonging to Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya States are exempted.
  • Candidates of these States can use their Passport Number, Bank Account Number, Ration Card Number or any Govt. ID Number to appear in the  JEE Main exam.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants should check the eligibility requirements before going ahead to apply online application form for JEE Main. Read the information brochure thoroughly and check all the eligibility criteria. Candidates should ensure their eligibility for JEE Main 2022 exam as per the following criteria:

Age Criteria (Date of Birth)

  • Date of Birth: Those who are born on or after 1st October 1997 are eligible for appearing in JEE Main 2022 exam.
  • However, candidat0s belonging to SC/ST/PwD are eligible for a relaxation of 5 years and hence, the date of birth must fall on or after 1st October 1992.
  • The candidate’s date of birth marked in the higher secondary education (10th) certificate will be taken into consideration.

Qualifying Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 (Intermediate) or its equivalent exam from a recognized board/institute in the year 2021 or 2022.
  • Candidates who appeared in the 12th class exam in the year 2019 but could not qualify for the exam in the year 2019 are not eligible to appear even qualifying for the exam later.
  • They must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam will also be eligible.
  • The candidates who have completed three years of diploma courses will also be eligible.

The number of Attempts Specified

  • The number of attempts for JEE Main is restricted to three only. It means if someone fails to qualify for JEE main in the first attempt then he/she can appear in the next two exams.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in IITs, NITs, CFTIs

Candidates must score 75% marks in the 12th examination or should be in the top 20 percentile in the respective board for admission in IITs, NITs and CFTIs. However, SC/ST candidates are required to score at least 65% marks.

JEE Main Application Form 2022

The candidates must check the JEE Main 2022 information brochure carefully and read all the information. Those who are meeting the above-mentioned eligibility requirements can apply for JEE Main. Check the following guidelines to make JEE Main Application Form:

  • JEE Main 2022 application form can be submitted via online mode only.
  • Visit the official website of the NTA for submitting the application form.
  • Interested candidates must apply before the last date.
  • Candidates have to visit the official website of the concerned authority.
  • Now go for JEE Main registration process.
  • Fill out the online application form carefully and remember all the information should be correct in all aspects.
  • Candidate must have Aadhar Enrolment Number as it is mandatory to appear in the exam. Without having a genuine Aadhar Number, one cannot apply for JEE Main.
  • Keep ready scanned photograph, signature and left thumb impression with the specifications as prescribed which will be uploaded with the application.
  • Candidates have to pay the requisite application fee.
  • Take a printout of the filled application form for future reference.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay the required application fee for the completion of the application process. Application fees can be submitted through net banking, debit/credit card or through e-Challan. The fee structure for JEE Main 2022 is as under:

Note: Candidates should submit only one application form. More than one application will not be considered. You are also advised to apply online only after satisfying the eligibility requirements. Do not conceal any information while filling up the online application form. Any candidate found misleading the authority, his/her candidature will be cancelled immediately.

Application Form Correction

First of all, we advise all the students to be careful while filling up the online application form. Candidates should fill out the application form completely without having mistakes. If anyone submits the application form with some errors, the authority will give them chance to make corrections to the application form. However, candidates can change or modify only some of the particulars. Therefore, the candidate should re-check the application form before clicking on the submit button.

Exam Pattern

Candidates should know the examination pattern of the JEE Main. You have to prepare according to the exam pattern and syllabus of the exam. The entrance exam will consist of two papers i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II. Check the following information carefully:

JEE Main Important Points

  • First of all, candidates should follow the instruction mentioned on the admit card while appearing in the exam.
  • Carry permissible items as specified in the admit card and do not carry restricted items like Calculator, Mobile phone, Bluetooth and any other electronic gazette in the examination hall.
  • Do not leave the examination hall till the invigilator permits you to leave to the examination hall.
  • The answer sheet should be neat and clean and remain wrinkle-free.
  • Use a question booklet and blank paper for rough work.
  • Any act of misconduct will cost heavily and the competent authority will take appropriate action.
  • Negative marking is applicable hence do not attempt questions blindly.

Preparation Tips

Candidates should make a proper strategy to crack the JEE Main 2022 exam. Here are the tips for better preparation:

  • First of all, be physically and mentally fit and stay calm and healthy because a healthy body and mind can achieve more.
  • Make a strict timetable for routine study and follow it passionately.
  • Go through the complete JEE Main 2022 syllabus and exam pattern because it is very important to know about the exam pattern and syllabus to crack the exam.
  • Candidates should have a very good command over 11th and 12th standard subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Start your preparation with NCERT books and previous year question papers.
  • Candidates should make note of important topics for revision last time.
  • Practice more on the subject or topic on which you are facing difficulty.
  • Students should not depend on coaching centre study material only. They should collect some best books available in the market for preparation for JEE Main exam.
  • Practice hard and solve the model papers and sample questions within a certain time period.
  • It is very much important to manage time while appearing for the exam hence, it requires lots of practice.
  • Read the entire question paper carefully and without wasting time start solving questions.
  • Solve easy questions first and then start solving other questions keeping in mind time remaining.
  • Candidates should not take unnecessary burdens or stress because it can reflect on performance.

JEE Main Syllabus 2022

JEE Main 2022 Syllabus will be different for both papers. Paper-I will include the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics whereas Paper-II will consist of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing. Paper-I will be based on the 11th and 12th standard syllabus. Candidates can prepare from the 11th and 12th standard books. However, for detailed topics candidates should check the official notification from the official website.

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card

The candidates who have successfully submitted the JEE Main 2022 application form will get the admit card prior to the examination. Admit Card will be available on the official website probably in the first week of March 2022.

The candidate can download the admit card with the help of required information such as roll number and details of the 12th class or its equivalent exam. Candidates should keep the following things in mind:

  • No one will be allowed to appear in the entrance test without having a valid  JEE Main admit card.
  • You must show the admit card when the invigilator or any other concerned person ask you to do the same.
  • Candidates should ensure that the information stated in the admit card should be correct whether it is the candidate’s name, DOB, exam date etc. If any candidates find any discrepancy then must report it to the competent authority.
  • Must carry admit card along with valid identity proof like Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Driving Licence, Passport etc. while going for the exam.
  • Download your admit card without any unnecessary delay and keep it safe until the entire examination process gets over.
  • Follow all the instructions of the invigilator and do not indulge in any unnecessary act.

JEE Main Answer Key

On successful completion of the JEE Main 2022 exam, the NTA will publish the answer keys and scanned copy of the OMR sheet for both Paper-I and Paper-II in the month of April 2022. Candidates can check the same from the official website.

Now, with the help of answer keys and an OMR sheet, candidates can check their answers and also can calculate the expected score. If someone found any discrepancy in the answer keys, he/she can approach the concerned authority by paying Rs.1000/question.

JEE Main Result

  • The concerned authority will publish the JEE Main result on its official portal.
  • Candidates can avail their results using roll number and date of birth.
  • The result of JEE Main (Paper-I) will be announced probably in the month of April 2022.
  • Following the result, the All India Rank for Paper-II will be declared in the month of May 2022.
  • Admission to NITs, IITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFTIs and others will be based on the All India Rank (AIR)
  • The competent authority will not send a Rank card to any individual via post.

JEE Main Cut-Off 2022

Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of JEE Main cut off marks. Cut-off marks will be released after completion of the exam.

Based on cut-off marks, qualified candidates will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced. The score below cut off marks means the candidate failed to qualify for the exam.

JEE Main Counselling 2022

  • The candidates who will secure their names on the merit list will be called for appearing in the counselling.
  • The counselling process will commence in the first week of July 2022.
  • All India Rank will be considered for admission.
  • It is mandatory to attend counselling for admission.

    • Goutam if your diploma is equivalent to 12th class then you can apply. I recommend you to wait for official notification and go through the same.
