AMU Entrance Eligibility 2020: Criteria for AMUEEE & Other Courses

AMU Entrance Eligibility 2020: The students willing to take admission in Aligarh Muslim University must have basic eligibility for the desired course. The University has prescribed eligibility requirements for each course which applicants must meet. AMU conducts entrance test for each course and candidates must qualify the same. Apart from fulfilling basic minimum eligibility conditions, candidates must obtain minimum qualifying marks in the entrance test. The eligibility conditions include age limit, nationality, and educational qualification. Eligibility criteria for different courses may vary hence, candidates must check information carefully. AMU Entrance Eligibility 2020

The AMU 2020 entrance exam for different courses will be held on several dates from April to May 2020. It is expected the AMU application form 2020 will be available in the first week of February 2020. It is recommended to go through eligibility requirements of concerned course before filling up AMU 2020 application form. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility conditions for AMU entrance exam, failing which may lead to the cancellation of candidature during any stage of the admission process.

Nationality:

  • An Indian citizen can apply.
  • However, some of the seats are earmarked for children of NRI/foreign nationals.

Age Criteria:

  • For Diploma Courses: The upper age limit is 21 years as on 01.01.2020.
  • For SSSC Courses:The upper age limit is 19 years as on 01.01.2020.
  • Graduate Courses:Upper age limit is 24 years as on 01.01.2020.
  • For Postgraduate Courses: Upper age limit is 27 years as on 01.01.2020.
  • Those who are passed out from Madarsa will be eligible to get three year relaxation.

Qualification Criteria:

Courses Eligibility Criteria
AMUEEE [B.Tech& B.Arch]

Qualifying Exam: The candidates should have completed 12the standard examination or an equivalent exam from a recognized university/board.

Subjects: The students should Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English subjects in the qualifying exam.

Qualifying Marks: Must obtain at least 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam.

Diploma Holders: Students having diploma in engineering from a recognized institute with minimum 50% marks can also apply.

MBA/MBA (IB)

Qualifying Exam: The candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university.

Qualifying Marks: Minimum 50% marks aggregate should be there in the qualifying exam.

MCA

Qualifying Exam: B. Tech./B. Arch./B.E. degree holder with minimum 55% marks aggregate will be eligible.
OR
Those who have competed Bachelor’s degree in Science stream with mathematics and any two subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Computer Maintenance, Computer Application, Information Technology can also apply. However, candidates must score at least 55% marks aggregate.

Diploma in Engineering

Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed Secondary School Certificate of this University or an equivalent exam with Science, English and Mathematics by scoring at least 45% aggregate marks.
OR
Passed Senior Secondary School Certificate examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English with at least minimum aggregate of 45% marks.

BUMS

Qualifying Exam: 12th standard or its equivalent passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

Minimum Marks: At least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

Age Limit: At least 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year.

B.A.LL.B.

Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have completed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board/institute with not less than 50% marks aggregate.
OR
Graduates of Deeni Madaris who have completed Bridge course from AMU are also eligible to apply. However, the candidates must score at least 50% aggregate marks.

Upper Age Limit: 22 years as on 1st July of the admission year.

M.A. (Mass Communication)

Qualifying Exam: Graduation in respective stream.

Minimum Marks: At least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

M.Sc Biotechnology

Qualifying Exam: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences.

OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology (B. Tech.) or Medicine (M.B.B.S.) or B. Pharma with at least 55% marks.
OR
One who has completed M.Sc first year in respective stream with at least 55% marks or completed B.Sc degree of 3-years duration are also eligible to apply.

LL.M.

Qualifying Exam: LL.B./B.A.LL.B. degree holder can apply for this course.

Minimum Marks: At 55% marks should be there in the qualifying exam.

Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery

Qualifying Exam: Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination passed from this University or an equivalent examination passed can apply.

Minimum Marks: Minimum 40% marks aggregate in any one (Science/Arts Stream with English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream only or Vocational ANM)

Age Limit: 17-35 years as on 1st September of the admission year. No age limit for ANM registered candidates.

B.Com (Hons.)

Qualifying Exam: Prerequisite qualification is 12th standard passed with commerce discipline or its equivalent exam from any recognized board/institute with at least 55% marks in aggregate

Subjects: English, Accounts and any two of the subjects from Economics, Business Studies, Business Organization, Commerce, Banking, Entrepreneurship, Mathematics & Statistics.
OR
Passed Diploma in Secretarial Practice examination from AMU with minimum 55% marks.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Qualifying Exam: 12th standard passed from a recognized board.

Minimum Marks: At least 55% marks should be there in the qualifying exam.

Subjects: Candidate should have Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics and English subject in the qualifying exam.

B.A. (Hons.)

Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have complete 10+2 exam from a recognized board/Institute.

Minimum Marks: Must have scored minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

Subjects: Should have passed the qualifying exam with English and three subjects from Arabic, Accountancy, Banking, Biotechnology, Biology, Business Studies, Business Organization, Commerce, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Education, Economics, Fine Arts, History, Hindi, Sanskrit, Home  Science, Geography, Islamic  Studies,   Philosophy, Persian,  Physical  Health Education,  Psychology, Political Science /Civics, Sociology, Urdu and Modern Indian Languages (Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Punjabi and Kashmiri).

OR

Passed Degree/Sanad from a recognized Madarsa/Institution with minimum 50% marks.

OR

Passed Bridge Course (for Graduates of Deeni Madaris) from AMU with minimum 50% marks.
