APTET 2020: Application Form Dates, Eligibility Criteria, Syllabus, Pattern

APTET 2020: The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh will soon invite the online application for Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2020 or APTET 2020. Qualifying the APTET exam is mandatory for the candidates in order to apply for the post of teachers (class I to VIII) in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  The Department of School Examination under Government of Andhra Pradesh will conduct the two papers in this exam i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is for those applicants who wish to be a teacher of classes 1st to 5th. Similarly, the candidates who are wishing to be a teacher of classes 6th to 8th need to apply for Paper-II.  However, the candidates can appear in both papers subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. APTET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for both Paper-I and Paper-II as given below:

For Paper-I (Classes I to V)

  • The candidate should clear the 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks and must possess a 2-year diploma in elementary education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)/ 2-year diploma in education (Special Education). Or
  • Aspirants must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% marks and a 2-year diploma in elementary education/ 2-year diploma in education (Special Education)/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) as per the guidelines of NCTE.

Note: SC/ ST / BC/ Differently abled candidates will get a relaxation of 5% marks.

For Paper- II (Classes VI to VIII)

  • Graduate candidates with 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/ BC/ Differently abled person) and a B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) degree can apply.
  • Aspirants having a B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed. Degree with at least 50% marks can also apply (45% for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently abled candidates).

APTET Application Form 2020

  • The application process of Andhra Pradesh TET 2020 will take place online through the official website (http://cse.ap.gov.in).
  • Visit official website as mentioned above for applying online.
  • Candidates have to enter their academic and personal details in the application form.
  • In addition to the details, applicants have to upload their photograph and signature in a proper format.
  • An application form will not be considered valid unless the aspirant pays the necessary application fee.
  • Note down and keep the reference ID safe after submitting the application form. Also, take a printout of the application confirmation page for future requirement.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs. 500/- for each paper (same for all the applicants).  Payment can be done through online mode using net banking, credit/debit card. Keep receipt of the payment for reference if required.

APTET Admit Card/Hall Ticket

  • Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the official website.
  • In order to download the admit card, the candidates need to provide their application reference number.
  • Applicants may contact Joint Director, TET of Commissioner of School Education, Anjaneya Towers, Ibrahimpatnam in case of a discrepancy with the admit card.
  • It is compulsory for every aspirant to have his admit card with him while appearing for the exam.
  • Keep the hall ticket safely even after the exam. Requests for the issuance of a duplicate admit card after the exam will not be entertained.

APTET 2020 Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: Online i.e. Computer Based Examination
  • Number of Questions: 150
  • Type of Questions: MCQs (Objective type)
  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Duration of Examination: 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark and there is no negative marking.

Andhra Pradesh TET 2020 Result

  • After conducting the exam, authorities will publish the answer keys on the official website.
  • Then, the result of APTET 2020 will be announced in online mode.
  • To check the result, candidates have to enter their roll number and date of birth.
  • The minimum qualifying marks that a candidate needs to score to be considered passed in this exam are as follows:
    • General Candidates: 60% marks
    • BC: 50% marks
    • SC/ ST/ Differently abled (PH) & Ex-servicemen: 40% marks
  • Successful candidates will get the certificates which will remain valid for 7 years.
