XAT Exam Pattern 2019: XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) in one of the popular entrance exam among the students who are seeking admission in MBA programmes. XAT Exam Pattern: Important Highlights
- The XAT will be held in two parts i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II.
- Paper-I consists of three section as Verbal and Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Decision Making.
- Duration of this paper will be 2.50 hours i.e. 170 minutes.
- Paper-I will contain 72 multiple choice questions having four alternatives.
- Each question will carry 1 mark and for every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded.
- There will be negative marking and as a result for each wrong response, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
- If anyone leaves 12 questions un-attempted the 0.05 mark will be deducted.
- In Paper-II, General Knowledge and Essay writing will be asked.
- There will be no negative marking in this paper.
- Paper-II will contain 25 question based on General Knowledge and Current Affairs and 1 Essay.
- Duration of Paper-II will be 35 minutes only.

XAT Syllabus 2019
The syllabus of the XAT exam will contain the subject like Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs. There will be one essay topic also. The topic wise syllabus details are as under:
Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation: Statistics, Data Interpretation-Web Diagram, Table, Direction Sense & Time, Speed & Distance, Algebra, Probability, Height & Distance, Mensuration 2D and 3D, Functions, Graphs, Geometry, Arithmetic etc.
Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning: Decision Making, Diagram, Mathematics, Reasoning Aptitude etc.
Verbal Ability: Logical Completion of Idea, Para Jumble, Critical Reasoning, Fill in the blanks, Grammar, Reading Comprehension etc.
However, there is no as such specific syllabus for XAT 2019 but the candidates should practice based on the above-mentioned syllabus and previous year exam.
How to Prepare for XAT
- Candidate should obtain official XAT information bulletin for detailed information regarding eligibility criteria and exam pattern etc.
- Go through the complete bulletin and read about XAT exam pattern 2019 and syllabus.
- Follow a strict time table for study and practice hard regularly.
- Collect some good books in respect of XAT 2019 preparation.
