Now, the NTA has announced new exam dates and it will be held on 16th-18th & 21st to 25th September 2020. The applicants must be aware that the said exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the University Grant Commission (UGC) from the year 2019. Earlier till 2018, CBSE was the regulatory authority for the UGC NET exam. UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2020

Before submitting the NTA UGC NET application form, the aspirants should check eligibility criteria to ensure eligibility for the exam. Candidates can check the following information with regard to UGC NET 2020 eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates having a Post-graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university can apply. Ph.D. students can also apply.
  • Minimum Marks: At least 55% marks aggregate should be there in the qualifying exam. However, there is relaxation for reserved category candidates and they should have minimum 50% marks only.
  • Appearing Candidates: Those who are in the final semester of the qualifying exam can also apply.
  • Relaxation: Ph.D. degree scholars are eligible to seek 5% relaxation in aggregate marks. However, they should have completed PG degree before 19th September 1991.

Age Criteria

  • No upper age limit prescribed for Assistant Professor.
  • The upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2020 for Junior Research Fellowship.
  • Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL/Women) can seek 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
  • Those who are having research experience and LL.M. degree holder will also be eligible for 3 years relaxation.

UGC NET Application Form 2020

The eligible candidates can access the UGC NET application form through online mode. The UGC NET 2020 June application form will be available till 30th June 2020. Candidates can register online on the official website. Enter your personal, educational and communication address in the application form. Candidates should have a valid e-mail ID and mobile number for registration. Pay the requisite registration fee to complete the application form.

UGC NET Application Correction

The applicants should read all the instructions given for filling up the online application form. But in case, the applicant made any mistake during the submission of the application form, it can be corrected within the stipulated time assigned for corrections.

Candidates have to login using registration number and password for correcting/modifying the particulars in the application form. Release of Admit Card

  • The UGC NET 2020 admit card will be issued to the eligible candidates through online mode.

If any candidate finds the mistake in the answer key then he/she can challenge the same by paying the requisite fee. The competent authority after assessing the claim or challenge will declare final answer keys.

UGC NET Result 2020

The UGC NET result 2020 will be published on the official website. Candidates can check their result online on the official website. Enter roll number and date of birth to download the result from the website. UGC NET 2020 exam result is likely to be declared in the month of October 2020.

UGC NET 2020 Cut Off

In order to qualify the UGC NET exam, candidates must score minimum qualifying marks. The minimum qualifying marks are cut-off for a particular year. UGC NET 2020 Selection Procedure

The candidates who will qualify the UGC NET 2020 exam will be considered as eligible. Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks in order to qualify the test. The competent authority after assessing candidates’ performance in the written test will prepare a merit list which will be later published on the official website.

Different universities or institutions will consider candidates’ marks or rank for the post of JRF and Assistant Professor. Top 15% from each category and subject will be declared as eligible for Assistant Professor only.

The applicants should keep in mind do’s and don’ts’ with respect to the UGC NET Exam, which are as under:

Fill all the information carefully in the application form. All the facts must be true.

Do not try to hide any information asked in the application form. If anyone found to be ineligible later, then it would not be in favour of the candidates.
Must obtain admit card from the website keep it safe for appearing in the exam. Do not indulge in any wrong practice. Al the exam centre would be under CCTV surveillance.
The candidates must visit the exam centre a day before the test date to know the exact location of the exam centre. Do not forget to carry UGC NET hall ticket or admit card and identity proof etc. to the exam centre. Without having valid ID proof and admit card, no one will be allowed to enter in the examination centre.
Reach the exam venue at least half an hour before the commencement of the exam as per the directions given in the admit card. Latecomers will not be granted access to the exam centre. Do not carry electronic devices such as mobile phone, Bluetooth devices, wristwatch or any other device as per the instructions to the exam centre.
After obtaining the question booklet in the exam room, check all the pages carefully. Do not waste your time in solving difficult questions first. Solve easy questions first and then go for tough questions.
Do not leave the room without the permission of the invigilator. After completing the question paper, submit it to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall. Do not carry any food items inside the exam hall.
