Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who are studying in class 11, 12, Graduation, Postgraduation and other technical and vocational courses can apply for this scholarship scheme.
  • Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in the last final exam.
  • The candidate’s total family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh per annum from all the sources.
  • Only those who are from minority community such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians/Parsis) can apply for this scheme.

Benefits under this scholarship

  • Admission Fee and tuition fee for Class 11 and 12: Rs.7000/- per annum (both Day Scholar and Hosteller).
  • Admission and Course/Tuition Fee for class 11 and 12 (technical and vocational courses of one and more year): Rs.10000/- per annum (both Day Scholar and Hosteller).
  • Admission and tuition fee for undergraduate and postgraduate fee: Rs.3000/- per annum (both Day Scholar and Hosteller).
  • Maintenance Allowance for class 11 and 12 including technical and vocational courses*: Rs.380/- per month for Hosteller and Rs.230/- per month for Day Scholar.
  • Maintenance allowance for courses other than Professional and Technical at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level*: Rs.570/- per month for Hosteller and Rs.300/- per month for Day Scholar.
  • Maintenance allowance for M.Phil and Ph.D.*: Rs.1200/- month for Hosteller and Rs.550/- per month for Day Scholar.

Note: *For 10 month period only in an academic year.

How to apply for Post Matric Scholarship for Minority?

The meritorious candidates who are belonging to minority community can fill the application form for availing post matric scholarships as per the prescribed guidelines. The steps for submitting application form are as below:

  • The application form can be submitted online on the official website.
  • Access website of the National Scholarship Portal i.e. https://scholarships.gov.in/.
  • Click on the ‘New Registration‘ link on the homepage.
  • Read all the instructions carefully and select the undertaking and continue.
  • Provide name, father name, date of birth, address, contact details like mobile number & e-mail ID, select State, Scholarship Category (Post Matric), Type of Scheme (Scholarship Scheme) etc. information in the form.
  • Also, provide the bank details such as Bank Account Number, Name of Bank, IFSC Code.
  • Then Select Aadhar or Bank Account Number as identification details and then click on the “Register” button.
  • An OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number for authentication.
  • Now login with the application ID and password and complete further application process.
  • All the entries should be correct in the application form as particulars cannot be modified or corrected later.
  • More than one application form will be rejected.
  • Submit application form in the end and do not forget to take printout of same for future references.

Documents required for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minority 2020-21?

  • Candidate’s Domicile certificate
  • Self-attested copy of educational documents
  • Self-attested community certificate
  • Fee receipt of current course year
  • Passport size photograph
  • Aadhar Card Copy
  • Income certificate issued by the competent authority in the State/UT Government.
  • Passbook of Student’s bank account or joint account with parents.

Selection Procedure

Fresh: Candidate’s financial condition will be considered rather than marks secured in the last exam. If marks of two candidates are the same and their family incomes are also same then their Date of Birth will be taken into consideration and as per the date of birth, senior candidates will be awarded the scholarship.

Renewal: The renewal of scholarship will be considered if the candidate obtained at least 50% marks in the previous class exam in the same course and institute/college.

Terms and Conditions

There will be 30% seats reserved for female applicants. However, in case of non-availability of female applicants, seats will be transferred to male candidates.
