NMMS Exam 2021-22: The National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. The Ministry of HRD, Government of India through the Department of School Education & Literacy awards NMMS Scholarship to the eligible candidates of class 8th. The Scheme is basically aimed to strengthen the economically weaker section by providing scholarships to meritorious students. The applicants have to qualify the written exam for obtaining the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS). Students can apply for NMMS Scholarship through online mode. It is pertinent to mention here that the candidates must have passed 8th class with at least 55% score for applying to NMMS scholarship 2021-22.

The NMMS scholarship 2021 application form is likely to be available from 15th November 2021. Students of KVS, NVS, Sainik School and Privates Schools are not eligible for the NMMS exam as per the norms. NMMS Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must fulfill the NMMS eligibility norms in order to apply for the NMMS Scholarship programme. Here candidates can check NMMS 2021 eligibility criteria below:

  • The students who are studying in class 8th or have passed the 8th class can apply for NMMS 2021.
  • There should be minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved category) in the qualifying exam i.e. 8th standard.
  • For continuation of the scholarship, students must obtain at least 55% (50% marks for reserved categories) in the class 9th and 11th and 60% marks (55% reserved category students)in the class 10th.
  • The family income of the applicant student should not exceed Rs.1.50 Lakh per annum for seeking NMMS Scholarship.
  • Those who are students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik Schools, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya can not apply.
  • Those who are studying in private schools and residential schools run by State Government having facilities such as lodging, boarding and education also cannot apply.

NMMS 2021 Exam Pattern

The candidates seeking NMMS Scholarship should go through the NMMS exam pattern in detail. The NMMS Exam consists of two parts namely Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).   • The NMMS exam 2020 will be held through offline mode.
  • All the questions in the exam will be multiple choices in nature. The students have to marks correct answer among the given choices.
  • The NMMS MAT Paper will consist of reasoning ability and critical thinking skill questions. There will be also questions based on classification, analogy, pattern perception, hidden figures etc.
  • The candidates have to obtain minimum 40% marks (32% for SC/ST candidates) in both MAT and SAT papers.
