NID Entrance Exam 2022 registration process may start from the month of January 2022. The National Institute of Design (NID) conducts entrance test for providing admissions in its undergraduate and postgraduate design programmes. The entrance test is generally known as Design Aptitude Test (DAT) through which candidates can get admission in four years B.Des. & M.Des. programmes. Candidates must qualify the entrance test for admission to these courses. The Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) is also running by NID’s Vijayawada and Kurukshetra campus. NID Eligibility Criteria

The applicants should go through prescribed eligibility norms before submitting the application form. Here candidates can check NID 2022 eligibility requirements as below:

Eligibility For B.Des./GDPD Course

  • Age Limit: As on 30th June 2022, candidate’s age should not exceed 20 years. However, reserved category i.e. SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates and PwD candidates are eligible for seeking 3 years and 5 years age relaxation respectively.
  • Qualifying Exam: 12th standard passed in any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce etc.) from any recognized education board (CBSE/IB/ISCE or equivalent) are eligible.

For M.Des. Programme

  • Age Limit: As on 30th June 2022, candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years. The reserved category candidates i.e. SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates and PwD candidates are eligible for seeking 3 years and 5 years age relaxation respectively.
  • Qualifying Exam: Applicant should have completed bachelors degree of 4 years duration in any discipline from a recognized university/institute OR
  • A bachelor degree of 3 years duration in any stream from a recognized University under 10+2 system OR
  • Complete 4 years diploma course in Design/ Architecture/ Fine Arts/Applied Arts after 10+2 from a recognized institute.

NID Application Form 2022

Those who are fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions for NID exam 2022 should submit the application form as per the guidelines. Here candidates can check instructions for submitting NID 2022 Application Form:

  • The applicants have to register online on the official website first.
  • Candidates can fill NID application form 2022 through online as well as offline mode.
  • NID application form for the academic session 2022-23 is likely to be released in the last week of January 2022.
  • The registration process may close in the last week of February 2022.
  • On successful registration, proceed for submitting the application form and fill all the details asked in the application form.
  • You are also required to upload the photograph and signature in the prescribed format and specifications.
  • The payment of registration fee can be done in form of Demand Draft in favour of ‘All Indian Management Association’ payable at New Delhi.

Application Fee

The candidates have to application fee to the complete the application process. Fee can be paid in both online as well as offline mode. The application fee will not be refunded in any case. Candidates can check fee structure in the table below:

NID Entrance Exam Pattern

The aspirants must prepare for NID Exam 2022 as per the prescribed syllabus. In order to qualify the entrance test, candidates should have basic information of NID 2022 exam pattern. Check some of the basic information on exam pattern as below:

  • Exam Mode: The entrance test will be held through online mode.
  • Test Duration: DAT preliminary exam will be of 3 hours duration.
  • Maximum Marks: The question paper will be of 100 marks.
  • Language: Question paper will be in English only.
  • Negative Marking: Not applicable in this exam.
  • DAT Main Exam: Those who qualify the preliminary exam, can appear in DAT Mains.

NID Entrance Exam Syllabus

The NID has not specified the syllabus for the NID entrance test. However, there are some topics which are relevant with respect to the NID 2022 exam. The topics are Innovation in Design, Elements & Principal of Design, Visual Logic, Creative Thinking & Writing, Colour Terminology, Optical Illusion, Design Theory, Usage of Color in Composition, 3D Visualization etc.

NID 2022 Admit Card

The applicants can obtain the admit card through online mode only. The competent authority will not send hard copy of the admit card to any individual. NID admit card 2022 for B.Des./GDPD is likely to release in the last week of March 2022 and for M.Des in the last week of March 2022.

NID 2022 Answer Key

The NID answer keys 2022 will be available online on the official website after the conduct of exam. Generally, it will be declared after the entrance test within one or two weeks. Candidates can check answer keys through online mode.

After downloading the answer keys, candidates can make a rough idea of the score to be secured in the test. If any candidate found any discrepancy in the answer keys, it can be challenged through proper manner.

NID Entrance Exam Result 2022

The NID 2022 result will be announced separately for both B.Des./GDPD and M.Des. programmes. Candidates can check the result and score via online mode. The authority will not send scorecard to any candidate through the post.

Based on candidates’ score, a rank list will be prepared for each course. The competent authority will consider candidates’ score, category and course opted etc. while preparing the merit list.

NID 2022 Admission Process

Meritorious candidates have to submit their consent to the Institute for admission. The competent authority will grant the admission on the basis of candidates merit and availability of seats.

Candidates also need to upload the documents on the website of Institute for verification of documents. It is recommended that candidates must upload the documents before the last date of submission of documents.
