- Age Criteria:
- The candidate should complete 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before 31st December of the admission year.
- No upper age limit has been fixed for appearing in the NEET exam. Everyone who is fulfilling the educational qualification can apply online.
- Nationality:
- An Indian citizen can apply.
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Foreign Nationals are also eligible to appear in NEET (UG) 2022.
- Number of Attempts:
- There is no limit fixed for the appearance in the NEET exam. Candidates can apply until the age of 25 years (General category) and 30 years (Reserved category).
4. Educational Qualification
- Applicant should have completed 12th class exam or any equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Bio-Technology and English subjects.
- He/she should secure a minimum of 50% (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category)in the qualifying exam i.e. intermediate (12th class) exam.
- However, for candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH candidates are required.
Note: Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam i.e. 12th class exam will also be eligible but they should qualify the exam with the required percentage for admission in MBBS, BDS, or AYUSH UG courses.
Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
- Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission under 15% All India Quota Seats.
- Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.
- However, candidates from these States can apply for the NEET exam for admission in various colleges other than Government Colleges after satisfying eligibility conditions.
NEET 2022 Admission and Reservation
- The authority will prepare an All India Merit list on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the NEET 2022 exam and accordingly, candidates will get admission in MBBS/BDS courses as existing reservation policy.
- Candidates have to appear in counselling for further admission process.
- Reservation of seats under 15% All India Quota in Government Medical Colleges are as under:
For SC candidates – 15% of seats are reserved
For ST candidates – 7.5% of seats are reserved
OBC candidates – 27% seats reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates
There are 3% seats reserved for PH candidates in different categories. Candidates can find detailed information on the website of the Medical Counselling Committee i.e. www.mcc.nic.in.
- Admission in remaining seats other than 15% All India Quota in State Medical Colleges/Universities/Institutions/Private Medical Colleges will be filled as per State reservation policy.
- Private Medical College will admit students in MBBS/BDS/AYUSH UG courses as per the policy of the Government of India/State/UTs.
The requirement of Aadhaar Number
The candidate should possess Aadhaar Card Number issued by UIDAI. However, Aadhar Number is not mandatory for submitting NEET 2022 application form.
