NDA Eligibility Criteria 2022-23: The candidates must be aware that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the exam conducting authority for NDA. Candidates should also know that the NDA exam held two times a year. The UPSC will release official notification for NDA 2022 Exams. NDA-I and NDA-II 2022  exams are scheduled to be held on 10th April 2022 and 4th September 2022 respectively. NDA-I application process is likely to commence from 22nd December 2021 while NDA-II registration process will start from 18th May 2022 tentatively. Interested candidates can apply online till 11th January 2022 for NDA-I 2022.

The interested candidates who have the passion for defence services including Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force must submit the application form before the due date. Update: The UPSC has released the official schedule for NDA-I 2022 exam. NDA-I 2022 application form is likely to release on 22nd December 2021. NDA 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants should ensure their eligibility to appear in the NDA exam as per the following criteria. Check thoroughly each and every points mention below:

Nationality/Citizenship

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India or
  • A citizen of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee, who is settled here since 1st January 1962.
  • An Indian origin person migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma and East African countries including Uganda, Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Malawi, Vietnam or Ethiopia with an intention to settle here permanently.

Note: Candidates belonging to other countries must have to submit a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. However, it is not necessary in case of Gorkha candidates of Nepal.

Educational Qualification

  • For Army Wing of NDA: Candidates must have passed 10+2 (12th) or equivalent examination from the State Education Board or a University.
  • For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy: 12th passed in 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent with Physics and Maths from any State Education Board or a university.
  • Candidate appearing in the 12th class as per 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent exam are also eligible to apply for NDA exam.

Age Limit

  • Candidates who born between 2nd July 2003 to 1st July 2006 are eligible to apply for NDA-I 2022 Exam.
  • Those who born between 2nd January 2004 to 1st January 2007 are eligible to appear in NDA-II 2022 Exam.
  • Candidate should note that the date of birth recorded in the matriculation certificate will be considered for age calculation.

Marital Status and Gender

  • Only unmarried candidates can apply.
  • Both Male and Female candidates can apply for NDA Exam.

Physical Standards

  • Candidate must be physically fit and mentally sound as per the physical standards prescribed for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Exam 2022.
  • A candidate will go through medical examination after the recommendation of Services Selection Board (SSB).
  • The height of the candidate should be at least 157 cm for Army, Navy and Naval Academy and 162.5 for Air Force. However, the candidate belonging to Hill area and Gorkha are eligible for relaxation of 5 cm in height.

NDA 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Highlights

  • Candidates are recommended that apply online for NDA 2022 exam only after ensuring your eligibility.
  • Though candidates who are appearing in the qualifying exam i.e. 12th are eligible to appear in the exam but they must pass the exam and should produce the pass certificate whenever asked.
  • 11th class students can not apply for NDA examination.
  • The one who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary action from any Armed Forces Training Academy is not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates cannot marry till training is completed
  • A candidate who provides false information in respect of eligibility criteria may be debarred from the subsequent exam.

Note: Mere appearance in the examination or issuance of admit card for appearing in the entrance test does not mean that the candidate is eligible for the job. Candidates must qualify the entrance test and subsequent interview/personality test.
