CEED 2021: The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is an entrance exam through which candidates can take admission in design courses like M.Des. and Ph.D. design. The IIT Bombay is the exam conducting authority, which manages entire examination process on yearly basis. Aspirants who are seeking admission in M.Des./Ph.D. design courses should apply within the prescribed time limit. Candidates have to qualify the entrance test for taking admission in reputed institutes like IITs and IISc. CEED Eligibility Criteria

All the students must ensure their eligibility before making an online application. Check CEED eligibility criteria as detailed below before applying online:

  • Educational Qualification: Applicants should have completed 4-year  or 3+2 years degree/diploma/postgraduate course or its equivalent from any recognized university/Institute after 12th standard.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.
  • Those who passed the GD Arts diploma course (10+5 level)  by July 2020 can also apply.
  • Age Limit: There are no age criteria for appearing in the CEED 2021 exam.
  • Attempts Limit: One can appear in any number of times.
  • CEED Score Validity: The CEED score will be valid for the current academic session only.

CEED Application Form 2021

The candidates should know that they can submit CEED application form through online mode only. CEED 2021 registration process is likely to start from 2nd week of October 2020. The registration process will close probably in the 2nd week of November 2020. Hence, aspirants must submit application form within this period. Candidates need to access the official website of the exam conducting authority for submission of application form. Find the concerned link for CEED 2021 registration and provide each and every detail with regard to candidate’s name, academic qualification, address etc. in the application form.

Keep ready all your documents such as education certificate, scanned images of photograph and signature etc. for uploading and ready reference. You also need to pay the requisite application fee. Submit application form at the end and take the printout of the same for future reference. Candidate must note one thing that incomplete application in any form will not be considered.

Application Fee

  • Candidates have to pay  Rs.2600/- as the application fee to the complete the application.
  • However, SC/ST/PwD and women candidates need to pay Rs.1300/- only as application fee.
  • If any candidate failed to apply on or before the last date, then he/she can submit application form later by paying the late fee of Rs.500/-
  • One can make payment using net banking, debit card and credit card.
  • Fee is non-refundable in nature and hence, no request for refund will be entertained.

CEED 2021 Exam Pattern

All the applicants should check the exam pattern and syllabus of the CEED exam for better preparation. The CEED 2021 exam will consist of two parts i.e. Part-A and Part-B. Aspirants can check the details below:

CEED Exam Part-A

  • Exam Mode: Part-A is a computer-based exam.
  • Number of Questions: Total 50 question will be there in this paper.
  • Type of Questions: Multiple choice in nature.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of Part-A paper will be 1.00 hour.
  • Language: The language of the paper will be English only.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 2 marks.
  • Negative Marking: Negative marking is applicable in this section.
  • One needs to qualify Part-A exam for appearing in Part-B exam.

CEED Exam Part-B

  • Exam Mode: This paper is a pen & paper based test.
  • Type of question: Subjective question will be there.
  • Exam duration: The test will be of 2.00 hour.
  • Language: The language of question paper will be English only.

CEED Syllabus 2021

The aspirants can check here syllabus of the CEED 2021 exam below. Candidates are recommended to start preparation as per the prescribed syllabus. Check the following information with regard to CEED syllabus carefully:

  • Visualization and Spatial Ability: Manipulation of 2D and 3D shapes/objects and their spatial relationships or pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test the candidates’ understanding of transformation.
  • Environmental and Social Awareness:General awareness of environment and its connected subjects like pollution, water, climate, weather, population, vegetation, natural resources etc., and their implications on the design of products, infrastructure and environment, Awareness of history of the designed artifact, design terminologies, social and cultural connection with design, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. History of art, sculpture, and literature.
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Ability to analyze the candidate’s logical aptitude, how they select the most appropriate solutions. Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria. Ability to use logic and structured thinking and identifying accurate response from the given number of statements.
  • Language and Creativity: This section is prepared to test candidates’ ability to think creatively in terms of alternatives, distinguish innovative options and ability to understand the passages in the English language.
  • Design Thinking and Problem Solving: Candidates ability to understand the context, the users and the constraints and how to select the most appropriate solution for a given design problem.
  • Observation and Design Sensitivity: Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcomes. Ability to find daily life problems and think critically about them.

Part B of CEED 2021 exam will consist of questions based on the following topics:

  • Drawing: Ability to draw people, products or scenes in proportion with good line quality, proportion, perspective, composition, and shading.
  • Creativity: Ability to find out diverse solutions through a unique thinking process or different way.
  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly with the help of text and visuals.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to understand the user and the context, originality of solutions, knowledge of materials and its properties and process and their appropriate use in design, ability to create characters, plots, and stories, etc.

Exam Centers

The CEED 2021 exam will be held in the following cities on the scheduled date and time. In this regard, candidates will be informed in admit card/hall ticket. Check exam centre details below:

CEED 2021 Admit Card

The CEED Admit card or hall ticket for appearing in CEED 2021 exam will be available on the official website from 1st week of January 2021. Candidates can obtain the same from the official website of the concerned authority i.e. IIT, Bombay on or before the last date i.e. date of exam. After obtaining the admit card, candidates should check the particulars of the same. If there is any discrepancy in the admit card then it must be reported to the concerned authority within the specified time limit. Take the printout of the admit card and carry the same for appearing in exam.

CEED Result 2021

  • CEED result 2021 will be announced through online mode and it will be available on the official website from 1st week of March 2021.
  • Candidates have to access the official website for downloading the result.
  • Candidates can check their result using registration number/roll number and date of birth.
  • Take a printout of the result and keep it safely for future reference during admission.
  • The competent authority before announcing the result will also release CEED answer key for information to the candidates. The answer keys will be placed on the official website in the last week of January 2021.

CEED 2021 Score Card

  • The candidates can download their scorecard from the website after the announcement of result.
  • Scorecard will be valid for the current academic session only.
  • Candidates can download the scorecard from 1st week of March 2021.

CEED Admission Procedure 2021

The candidates should know that IIT Bombay does not have any role in the admission process. Qualified candidates on the basis of CEED result/score must apply in the respective institute for admission. You should also know that the validity of CEED score is one year only i.e. current academic session.

There is no centralize counselling for admission, candidates must visit the website of the concerned institute for information regarding admission.
