AFCAT Exam Pattern 2022
Applicants must know that the AFCAT exam is quite tough and without having proper preparation, it is difficult to crack this exam. Therefore, each one of you must prepare according to exam pattern and syllabus. Practice hard and study well without taking unnecessary burden. There will be large number of applicants for some number of vacancies and only few one will get chance to join Indian Air Force. Check following information with regard to AFCAT exam pattern:
- AFCAT paper will consists of 100 questions.
- Each question will carry 3 marks. Therefore, the question paper will be of 300 marks.
- Every correct answer will be rewarded by 3 marks.
- Negative marking is applicable and hence, for every wrong attempt, there is penalty of 1 mark.
- The duration of exam will be 2.00 hours.
- Questions will be based on General Awareness, verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.

Generally, AFCAT syllabus includes four subjects viz. General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. Each subject has some sub-topic which are relevant to the exam. Applicants must go through prescribed syllabus in order to prepare well. - General Awareness: Current Affairs, Sports, History, Civics, Geography, Politics, Environment, Basic Science, Art, Culture, Defence etc.
- Verbal Ability in English: Comprehension, Antonyms, Synonyms, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Fill in the Blanks, Active Voice, Passive Voice, Testing of Vocabulary etc.
- Numerical Ability: Simplification, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Decimal Fraction, Simple Interest, Average, Number Series, Ratio & Proportion etc.
- Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
AFCAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2022: Highlights
- There is three branches of the Air Force i.e. Flying Branch, Ground Duty Technical and Ground Duty Non-technical.
- Syllabus for each branch may slightly different, candidates should prepare accordingly.
- Candidates have to complete question paper within allotted time i.e. 2.00 hours.
- Do not leave the exam hall without permission of invigilator.
- Eligible for appearing in the AFCAT exam does not mean that candidate is fit for Air Force.
- Candidates are required to follow the entire selection process which include the written exam, interview, physical test and medical test.
